Call for Patents - ITU-T G.711.1
Wideband Embedded Extension for G.711 Pulse Code Modulation
Sipro Lab Telecom Inc. is hereby issuing the following call for essential patents reading on ITU G.711.1 standard.
Any company or entity who believes it has patents or patent applications that are necessary to the G.711.1 standard and who wishes to participate in the G.711.1 patent pool is requested to submit its patents or patent applications for essentiality evaluation by an independent third party evaluator by sending an email message to legal@sipro.com.
Specifications relating to the G.711.1 standard may be found at http://www.itu.int/ITU-T/aap/AAPRecDetails.aspx?AAPSeqNo=1585
Sipro Lab Telecom will then provide detailed instructions regarding submission of patents for evaluation, but note that all submissions shall contain a copy of the patent and detailed history, and reference to the relevant claims to the standard, as well as the patent evaluation fees of US $10,000.
A patent or patent application will be declared essential to the G.711.1 standard if the independent patent evaluator finds at least one claim which would be unavoidably infringed by the practice of the G.711.1 standard in the absence of a valid license to such patent or patent application.
All submitters that will have received a favorable opinion from the independent evaluator as to their patent application’s essentiality or patents’ essentiality will be invited to participate as a member of the licensing administrative committee for the G.711.1 patent pool. In order to participate to the first meeting of the licensing administrative committee for G.711.1 standard, you must have submitted your patent for evaluation prior to March 21, 2008. All companies or entities who obtain favorable evaluations at a later date will be able to join the licensing administrative committee’s following meeting.
